(Konica Minolta) today hosted government officials (federal, state and local), representatives from industry trade associations, chamber of commerce members and the media in a ground breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the expansion of their Ramsey campus. The expansion not only marks the company’s continued growth in the imaging sector to produce high end technologies that meet customers’ evolving business needs, but also Konica Minolta’s commitment to the New Jersey economy, in bringing new jobs to the area.

The project will encompass new building construction, as well as the conversion and repurposing of existing facilities on the campus. When completed, it is expected that the new jobs created will boost the local economy, from employing area residents to shops and businesses that will benefit from added sources of revenue.

Rick Taylor, president and CEO of Konica Minolta, accompanied by several senior executives, presided over the ceremony – the first large-scale addition to the campus infrastructure in several years. As noted in Rick’s remarks, “Konica Minolta, has reached a special milestone, fuelled by our continued growth in the imaging sector. We believe our investment in the Ramsey campus will not only bring new jobs to New Jersey, but it will serve a key role in supporting our business expansion to help add value to our customers.”

Specifically, the expansion is expected to make way for:

  • The construction of a two-story annex to Building 101 at their Williams Drive campus that will accommodate up to an additional 400 employees
  • The conversion of an existing building for:
    • a new National Customer Engagement Center
    • an East Coast Technical Training facility
    • and a consolidated warehouse for all East Coast operations
  • A Technical Call Center for field technicians to connect directly with key operational experts
  • An Engineering Center
  • A Research and Development Facility
  • A new, four-tier parking garage with a capacity for 350 vehicles

Deirdre Dillon, Ramsey Borough Mayor, stated, “Konica Minolta has been a great neighborhood fixture for many years, providing jobs to many of our residents and those from nearby towns.” Dillon added “The company has also been very generous in supporting special community projects by contributing employee volunteers, which has benefited many businesses and residents in the local community.”

In addition to an overview of the project provided by Rick, the ground breaking featured a traditional first-dig of soil, as conducted by company executives and invited guests, all equipped with special ceremonial shovels and Konica Minolta hardhats.

Construction and related activities will be conducted in stages, with an anticipated final completion date of summer 2019.

Ramsey, NJ and Foster City, CA – August 13, 2018, Aug. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Konica Minolta Inc.’s (Konica Minolta) Business Innovation Center (BIC), technology innovator for the healthcare industry, announces today the company’s breakthrough entry into the healthcare analytics market: a Value-Based Care Platform designed in partnerships with Lightbeam Health Solutions and Medal. The solution enables healthcare organizations to optimize clinical quality, reduce costs, and increase patient satisfaction while enabling the leap to forward-thinking value-based care models.

The end-to-end solution provides key, relevant information across the care continuum to give providers a holistic view of their patients. The value of patient data enables a better understanding of population needs, aligning behavior with present and future incentive models.  Its SaaS-based platform enables providers to rapidly and easily deploy.

The platform provides advanced analytics by leveraging both structured and unstructured data from Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) systems, Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), claims, and other such repositories. Konica Minolta aggregates this patchwork of data sources to provide actionable insights at the point of care.

The Value-Based Care Platform was developed by Konica Minolta’s Business Innovation Center and validated by their Healthcare Advisory Council, an elite group of healthcare leaders comprising Chief Medical Officers, Chief Information Officers, and executives from leading healthcare organizations.

“With aggressive transformation goals, we are continually expanding the value Konica Minolta provides to the healthcare market through our Business Innovation Center,” said Ekta Sahasi, Vice President of Konica Minolta’s Business Innovation Center.  “Our ability to process both structured and unstructured data on a single healthcare analytics platform will immensely benefit providers, payors, as well as patients.”

The Business Innovation Center also forged Konica Minolta’s entry into remote healthcare with the 2016 launch of its Telehealth Platform.

Thousands of healthcare organizations rely on Konica Minolta for the quality, security, efficiency, and innovation that propel them into the future of healthcare. It has helped organizations across the country more securely and efficiently capture, share, and harness patient information for better, cheaper quality of care.

“Our End-to-End Value-Based Care Platform is the culmination of considerable research,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President of Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning at Konica Minolta. “Our sole objectives were improving the quality and cost of care delivery. We collaborated with our strategic partners to create a unique, predictive intelligence solution that will prove a profound entry for us into the healthcare analytics market.”

The 2018 Birdies to Benefit program invites fans and supporters to pledge a donation for every birdie (one stroke under par for the hole) achieved during THE NORTHERN TRUST by the top 125 players on the PGA TOUR. With an estimated 1,200 birdies expected over the course of the event, Konica Minolta is pledging up to $12,000 in matching contributions, aiming for a grand total of $24,000 to help raise awareness and needed funds for Tackle Kids Cancer. "We're very proud to once again support this program and work with Tackle Kids Cancer and the Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center,” said Rick Taylor, president and CEO of Konica Minolta. “Visiting the Children's Cancer Institute at the Joseph M.
