In addition, Print Director can also be used by companies to monitor their own activity and limit the number of copies, prints, faxes and scans employees can make. Print Director can even establish a print management plan based on established guidelines to help reduce printing costs. these types of units from Samsung, HP, Xerox (relabled Samsung) and Muratec (relabled Samsung) are needed and their should be more of them. There is no need for an 11x17 foot print for the verticle markets that I described. Ricoh, and Canon need to step up to plate and give the customers what they need and want. It's said that 77% of all MFP users do not need 11x17. One other note, for the price these systems allowed me to place units and beat the competition badly. I heard that a few reps stated

Re: Sales Tips

Sales Pipeline: A sales pipeline is a very important concept in selling because it is the recognition of the origin and result of each sale. Each sale starts as a lead -- which is a phone number, a name, an email address, a referral or someone who walks into your store -- they are leads. From there, you qualify the lead, which means, you make sure this person is capable of becoming a customer -- either they have enough money or the right size outfit for your product. For instance, you might

Selling MFP's is a competitive business and it seems to be getting tougher every day..... for the reps who are only selling boxes or just upgrading existing clients! If can't separate yourself from the competition, your sales will and probably are in a downward spiral! rest of blog is here http://mfpsolutions.blogspot.com/

MP161 network connection problem

Sypher (Guest) ·
Hey guys I am having a problem setting up a MP161SPF for scan to folder! First off the machine is able to print, copy, fax and lanfax as well as scan to mail!! The problem arises when I try to set up scan to folder using, either a pc name and or the IP, it keeps telling me that the connection has failed, IP Add is correct, Subnet is Correct, Gateway is correct. And the customers IP`s are all static. I tried connecting to my laptop as well with the same connection error, so I am pretty sure the

All of the Ricoh scanners can do this with software, and there are many different types that can be used. One of the systems that can be used is GOBY from doculex, keep in mind that a bar code separtor page must be used/inserted betwwen the batches. Bar code information will contain file name, and indexing fields that you require. You can also use Document Mall with associated software. I do not know of any device that will do what you need without software. I reccomend contacting Doculex

***Update**** In reviewing the information, it seems I may have been wrong and that these machines do have the same as their predecessors. However, I never ran into this problem before now. I don't know if it has to do with the way the memory is shared or the fact that these machines are so inexpensive that they are stealing sales that should be handled by 25ppm machines. My only suggestion is to be aware of it before it becomes a problem.

Re: MPC2000

The MP C2000 is simply a 20ppm version of the MP C2500/C3000. There will be no Fiery (EFI) model, but all other specs other than print/copy speed are the same, and all accessories are the same.

Make sure WINS Server is turned off unless the customer has a WINS Server. Ricoh "out-of-the-box" have WINS ENABLED with the IP ADDRESS of 0.0.0.0. I have seen this to cause a DNS issue when trying to resolve names to IP address for PC on the network. Also, you MUST set the SMB Domain/workgroup correctly or it will not find any PC's on the LAN. The default SMB workgroup/domain name programmed in the MP161 is WORKGROUP. If that is not the customers workgroup/domain name then you WILL get that

B&W vs. Color pages

·
We have an opportunity to upgrade a Toshiba 3511 that the customer is saying that out of a document with 2 color pages and 6 b&w pages the customer is being charged for 8 color pages. We told them that our machine (the MPC3500) would count 2 color and 6 b&w pages. when we tested it we got 3 color pages an 5 b&w. What are we missing?
