Have you seen the new Ricoh video?

Let's just say that Ricoh will be breaking up the company by April. So they are going the way of Xerox. Then they say that each company will be responsible for their portion of the company. They also mention that they need to speed up the process of becoming a digital company which means....goodbye techs me thinks. I think Florida and Mississippi were a testing ground, so now they will be selling off the techs to third party services.

Who knows what IT portion will do? Who knows where MS will stand. Our boss has been hinting that he might not be around anymore as most MS sites report to a direct manager, then he/she reports to an area manager who reports to upper management. Which makes me think they are cutting out the middle managers who are likely s—ing up air and resources.

Sad times. I think the end of Ricoh is coming. They believe that by being a digital company they will increase revenue and I believe they have muddy the waters so much people don't know what the hell they are, much less what the point of them is. read the rest here

Was that really a discontinuation notice?  I wasn't sure what it was.  I would hope that Ricoh would now lower the cost of the the IM C2500 to the cost of the IM C2000.  The difference in cost of almost $1,000 made no sense for a print speed of 5 more pages per minute.

When you think about it, the cost to manufacturer both units is identical. Placement wise we hardly moved any 25ppm devices because of the cost difference.
