30th July 2014 - Building on the success of the previous release, the latest enhancements provide heightened security to enhance information integrity and help firms meet data protection regulations. Among the new features, Nikec Docstore offers audit trail capabilities, improved activity reporting on users and/or files and integration with Document Management Systems (DMS), Active Directory and Outlook. It also offers users superior control when sharing files and folders internally or with external parties.

 

Improved Security

Whether hosted as a secured Cloud or as an On Premise solution, the updated version of Nikec Docstore provides greater security features to ensure that documents remain protected at all times. Enhanced encryption methods are used to protect data when stored on the server, during use, when in transit or when shared with third party members. In the case that a mobile device containing sensitive information is lost or stolen, IT teams can remotely wipe data from these authorised devices to ensure that it does not fall into the wrong hands. Overall, these features help safeguard organisations and their clients from the ever-increasing threats of identity theft, cyber-crime and information leaks.

 

Enhanced Control

The new functionalities within Docstore provide IT, compliance and security teams with granular control over folders and documents. Permissions and rules (password strength configuration policies, document access, editing, downloading and sharing rights, setting expiry dates for file access and deletion&hellip can either be set for the organisation as a whole or at a departmental or individual user level. Activities can also be fully monitored and recorded at a user or group level to provide a log of documents that have been created, modified, shared or deleted. When combined with the solution’s ability to generate comprehensive reports that can be fully queried, it empowers IT or security teams to quickly manage any audit enquiries or compliance issues that may arise after the completion of a project.

 

Open environment to integrate the firm’s document workflow

Nikec Docstore has been designed for seamless integration within a firms existing workflow whether it is with the email exchange server or a DMS. Users can now access and share attachments through the Docstore platform directly from their Outlook or DMS interface which not only minimises the number of steps between these processes, but consequently saves time and improves productivity. Meanwhile the ability to share documents directly via the familiar Outlook/DMS interface encourages user uptake which subsequently leads to enhance communications between teams and their clients. Nikec Docstore also integrates with the firm’s Active Directory to alleviate the need for IT teams to manually recreate file and folder structures and permissions settings, resulting in time and cost savings.

As documents are constantly added, deleted, shared and amended, users require a fast and intuitive means to focus and work on these files with minimal distractions. Docstore now provides a simple, clean user interface to allow users to access documents quickly.
