Ricoh Europe, London, 17 February 2016Ricoh Europe today announced that it has been named a leader in Managed Workflow Services by IDC.
According to the new “IDC MarketScape: Western Europe 2015 Managed Workflow Services Hardcopy Vendor Assessment — Building on MPDS (managed print and document services)”, key factors that contributed to Ricoh’s positioning include:
  • Strong overall strategy and structure for a services-led organisation
  • Ability to provide real-life examples of business transformation from its own workplace in discussions with customers
  • Investment in personnel and acquisitions to build industry-specific expertise.
The IDC MarketScape focuses on managed workflow services, the most mature type of MPDS. This encompasses an evolution to a set of professional and managed services that automate and optimise vertical and horizontal document-intensive workflows and business processes.
The research evaluated vendor offerings through extensive business briefings and demonstrations, as well as responses from in-depth interviews with customers throughout Western Europe.
“Ricoh is committed to services-led transformation and has recently invested in providing solutions across product segments, particularly addressing requirements for workstyle innovation including mobile and cloud-based solutions and the use of technology for better collaborative processes,” reported the IDC MarketScape. “Ricoh has a strong overall strategy and structure for a services-led organisation. It stays close to the market and has shown significant developments in shaping solutions for various horizontal and industry-specific processes in the region.”
"Managed workflow services market players such as Ricoh Europe are continuing to develop their offerings to address challenging process workflows in their customers' organisations," said Jacqui Hendriks, research and consulting manager, IDC European Managed Print Services and Document Solutions. "Once customers experience the significant impact of implementing efficient workflow solutions, they can be on a fast track to identifying additional workflow challenges and aiming for total business transformation rapidly."
The report acknowledges that Ricoh remains close to the market by sharing experiences and expertise globally for regional implementation. It also states how the company’s consulting group is structured around four practice areas – business process agility; enterprise mobility; governance, risk and compliance (GRC); and organisational change management – with principal consultants assigned to each area.
Ricoh remains committed to its services-led transformation strategy. Its recognised managed services portfolio is organised into eight global service lines — Managed Document Services (MDS), Business Process Services, Communication Services, Application Services, IT Infrastructure Services, Sustainability Services, Workplace Services, and Production Printing Services. Its verticalised approach helps customers overcome challenges that arise in today’s world of work and has made a strong impact in its overall solutions offerings.
“We’re honoured to be positioned as a leader in this IDC MarketScape report, which commends Ricoh’s commitment to continually improving our services-led approach,” said David Mills, CEO, Ricoh Europe. “We are proud of our approach to helping customers improve the ways they capture, manage and transform data to overcome their business challenges today, and to accelerate their transition into future workstyles.”
