Trying to find some information.

Can any of the Bizhub models scan directly into Alchemy document management software?

Or do you need a 3rd party application installed and configured on the machine to scan into Alchemy?

If 3rd party application is needed what is it called and about how much is it?

Thanks!

Konica Minolta does not have a "built-in" ability with our MFPs to tie directly into Alchemy.

If they truly want that enhanced functionality, you would have to add on an external eCopy ScanStation, which does have an optional module to communicate directly with the Alchemy software.

If they could get away with just basic scanning, all Konica Minolta MFPs can "talk" to Alchemy (or any other software requiring scanning) via the twain driver.

This allows them to initiate the scan right from Alchemy and pull it into the system from our MFPs. There is no charge for this as twain scanning comes standard, so they would have to weigh the cost benefits of a full blown solution vs. a basic movement of scans into the system.
The are many ways to scan into Open Text Document Server, Alchemy.

Here are a few possibilities:
1. Scan your files into a folder structure and use the import utility from alchemy to watch these folders and import the files into the DB. When the files are already searchable, you will be able to find them on Full Text in Alchemy.
2. Scan your files into a folder a index them with the Alchemy MFP Module (a desktop index client).
3. Use NSi AutoStore which intergrates on the bizhub OP models from Konica Minolta.

The are still a lot more options.
Most important is to consult on the document processes. It is nice to have panel intergration but when a customer scans a lot of documents, it is not the best way to go.
