In my experience, people who have workflows that would benefit from storing images to the copier also need a Fiery controller.

In those types of worflows with high-res color images, its quite easy to wind up with very large files. I've seen files stored on the Fiery that were more than 1GB for a single file.

So, in those specific types of workflow, yes, a larger hard drive is not only useful but necessary.

For general office work, there is generally no need to store such files on the hard drive and if you do the files will be small (<50mb) and not retained for long.

In those cases, there is no difference (to the customer) between a 250GB hard drive and a 250MB hard drive.

Still, it's a spec and if you don't meet it or outsell around it, it's an issue.
