here's the scoop. we have the Gestetner version in a print for pay environment. they are running thick paper stock through the bypass tray and all the settings are right for thick paper. in the last 6 weeks we have had to replace 3 fuser units because the center pawl has dug into the upper fuser belt. they are right at specs for the thickness of the stock they are using and are running about 15,000 color prints per month. any ideas?

I realize this is a few months old but felt this would be worthwhile information.

When it comes to paper weight the actual thickness is what counts. I have seen the same speced paper vary in thickness from manufacture to manufacture and from ream to ream. The best thing to do is to learn how to read a micrometer. A decent one that reads .001" of inch can be bought for about $30 american. They do make micrometer's specifically for paper but these cost alot more. This way you have a measuring device that will put an end to the argument of whether the paper is too thicj or not. This has saved me a few times.
