This Week in the Copier/Office Equipment Industry 10 Years Ago 1st Week of December 2005

What a difference 10 years makes, especially with wide format systems.  Ten years ago, Ricoh wide format was hot!  So hot, that it was not uncommon to make two to three thousand dollars on a single unit sale.  Alas, all of that has changed with Ricoh's decent to bottom of the pack for wide format systems and the Great Recession that started in 2008 and continues to this day.

decided that Oracle can't print easily to a Ricoh. Because local IKON is not a strong Ricoh (Canon for 25 years, Ricoh for 2) and the customer is not being supported well, I need somebody that can speak from experience that it's not the Ricohs.

I am under the impression that KIP is going to all Konica/Minolta dealers and asking if they want to pick up the line.  I have come across this situation 3 times in the last month with the prospect telling me that they are getting a quote from Konica.  I

I don't think this is anything to be alarmed at. KIP wants dealers and they are going to solicit dealers with product lines that don't currently have wide format. I would imagine that they have always targeted Konica/Minolta dealers.
