Device billing is when you charge a flat price for service each month. There clicks are unlimited, however the client needs to buy the consumables. Preferably from you.

What consumables are not included? Only the toner? What about other parts like drums, fuser, rollers etc.? Do you do those kind of agreements for MFP's too?

No, we are not doing any of those agreements with our MFP's. With the printer the device billing would not include the drum, or fuser. Client would pay for those. Device billing is a practical maintenance agreement for the new A3 ink based MFP's. Epson will be launching their 100ppm color device shortly. The only consumables is the print head and the ink. It's rumored that the print head will be warranted for 3 years. In addition the print head is very costly. The idea would be to charge...

More than a few copier/ printers are manufactured in Thailand and the Philippines due to low labor costs. I do not know but I think these products tend to be more low end A4 and printer products. I think most A3 product is made in China. I can only speak for Toshiba but I know the majority of North American toner is made in North Dakota. As I am from Canada, I am hoping with fingers crossed that this very likely US tariff war with China will not effect us.

In a hint at what is to soon happen with tariffs on copiers/ printers from China headed to the USA, Harley Davidson Motorcycles announced today that it would shift some production headed for Europe to other global manufacturing facilities to avoid paying tariffs estimated at up to $2,200.00 per bike. I am glad to hear that you are working in the copier industry so that I know that you have "skin in the game". There are very many players in the copier/ printer industry each with their own strengths/ weaknesses when faced with a trade war. Each player will have a different tolerance for how much money they want to loose to maintain market share. I definitely would not expect a uniform response. Multi line dealers will have more options to select from than single line dealers and brand...

What is even more scary is how your commission cheques will fall in $ value if you only sell A4 copiers. The copier/printer market is not getting any larger and if a commission sales rep focuses on selling lower $ value A4 boxes, they are going to have to make a lot more sales calls and sell a lot more boxes to earn the same money.

The Trump Administration announced today what they call a second tranche of tariffs against goods manufactured in China subject to 25% effective Aug 23. We bought one of the C300 when they were clearing them out and imagine my surprise to learn we also had to put toner in it! All the other printer based models come with starter cartridges. Anyway, the toner cost more than the fricken machine!!

Slight correction...both the IM 430F and the IM 430Fb are 43 ppm. Additional info...the 430F (SP 501) has a Service Maintenance platform while the 430Fb (SP 502) has a User Maintenance platform. The SP 510 and SP 502 are printer only versions of their respective MFP's. As far as I know, the SP's and the IM 350 (350F without a standard fax) have not been launched yet. 6 Reasons Why Canon's New 715iF A4 MFP Kicks Butt
It's not that often that I get the chance to blog about something other than a Ricoh MFP. It's all not that often that I get excited about an MFP from another manufacturer. However, the introduction of the Canon iF715 imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series has me chomping at the bit for a 75pp A4 device that I could sell. The Canon 715iF has an "up to" print speed of an amazing 75 pages per minute! The reason I mentioned "up to" is because many MFP's will grind and run slower with different files.
