COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Thirty-Five of Sales

Art Post ·
During the month of April we posted 66 blog and videos. Special thanx to Ray and Larry for their contributions. In my twenty years of hosting this site I've never seen this much inaction from the copier manufacturers. Just today I heard from an unnamed source (frak I always wanted to write that), that XBS former Global has axed up to 50% of their Market Place Presidents. A few days ago there was a another thread about lay-offs from Kyocera. Really? Does it really need to be this way? When...

Re: barcodes 4/3/06 8:45 AM I don't know anything about Unix. The customer told me that he had to develop a special driver to print the barcodes, and that he didn't want to have to develop a second driver to print to a Ricoh copier when he was already printing to a Canon . That's all I really know about it -- except that...

Memoirs of a Copier Sales Person "Stranger Things Can Happen"

Art Post ·
Early in the year I stated that 2018 started out poorly, had a very good February and a so so March. It's only April 3rd and I'm already feeling the squeeze even with 14 selling days selling days left in the month. After years and years of having the month close early. The thought of it being only April 3rd and fourteen selling days left can mess with your sales psyche. A few weeks ago I'm in as a referral for a net new account. It's rather large with two color A3 copiers, three hi speed...

Japan biz moving production out of China

Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Japanese businesses are accelerating steps to move their production of goods bound for the U.S. out of China, as the two countries implemented their latest tariff increases on each other’s goods Sunday. With no end in sight for the U.S.-China trade war, Japan’s capital spending, which has been supporting the domestic economy, declined for the first time in two years in the first quarter of fiscal 2019, which started in April. Is the Imaging Channel a Bubble getting ready to Burst?

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Earlier last year I suggested that the acquisition activity through the imaging channel seemed a bit out of touch with the realities of the market. My argument stems from the lack of diversification in products, services and their business structure. I questioned then and still question the logic in buying up a declining deliverable, a deliverable which continues to evaporate revenues and profits. Without a change in structure and product diversification, it seems many will soon realize what...

You do have a point about the declining deliverables. But there are other dealers that are raising the stakes with IT and Content. One of our big initiatives this year is to have double digit growth with content.

The dealers will also have to redefine how they deliver to the majority of their print customers.

When it becomes time to change the deliverables it will be too late for many of them. Personally, I don't think the change will come that quick to SMB accounts. Larger accounts without a doubt, going to come down to geographical markets here in the US.
