Re: Leasing Companies are not Exempt from Changes

Lease Maestro ·
Wow - that was quite the read. While there are a few details that I have a differing opinion on, I cannot agree more with Ray on the the fact that change is coming and the Leasing industry has not choice but to change with it. The question is not "will leasing companies change", but how much will they change and how much will they be able to change within their existing framework. Many of these leasing companies are part of larger banking organizations and will the regulatory and legal...

Re: Leasing Companies are not Exempt from Changes

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Thanks for commenting the first step to change is the ability to discuss why you should. As all of know change is usually a forced reaction unfortunately. I would say that the real disruptions to any deliverable are those which come from new places. too many see their competitors as someone like them. Today we all need to look in new places. Regarding Quicken I believe the mass market they attract are not 800 plus credit scores. The interest paid by end-users doesn't need to necessary be...

Leasing Companies are not Exempt from Changes

Ray Stasiezcko ·
Those in the technology industry face many challenges caused by innovation, new competitors, and changing buyer habits. Regardless of your core function in the technology deliverable whether you are a manufacturer, software provider, lessor or a reseller who delivers equipment and its services to the end-users, no one can assume yesterday’s circumstances will remain relevant tomorrow. Today all leasing companies in the channel are delivery models based on a monthly payment where hardware is...

A Professional Athlete Puts In The Hard Work - Can The Same Be Said For A Copier Sales Rep?

Larry Levine ·
"Without hard work and discipline it is difficult to be a top professional" Jahangir Kahn Can this same message reign true inside the copier channel? Can this message be applied to a copier sales rep, YES! There is no free ride to success as some copier sales reps may think otherwise! There is no easy button to press! Can You Imagine A Professional Athlete Operating With A Sales Reps Mindset?

Once asked about why he was so successful on the basketball court, Kobe Bryant looked at the reporter and said: “Have you seen Los Angeles at 4am? “I see it often because that’s when I start training.” It can sometimes be difficult to find differences in top athletes which are noticeable. Their level of physical imbalance is minimal. What is it separating the good from the great? What separates Kobe Bryant from good athletes? This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago (First Week of December 2014)

A few years ago I was digging through some of my parents stuff that saved after they both had passed. I found a pamphlet was printing in 1941 and was titled "800 Ways to Save and Serve", which was designed to help Americans with the World War II effort. I re-posted these on the site and the first one was titled "Pamper the Sweet Tooth in Wartime". Having never lived through rationing (except for gas), I found these articles to be interesting in the lives of the Americans during WW2. Check...

Sales Professionals Are Not Me-Too, Are You?

Let this one sink in for a moment... Business executives will not engage in a business conversation or buy from you if they don’t understand why they should pay attention to you. What sets you apart from your competition? It's up to you to prove it. I'm concerned as many in sales struggle with what sets them apart from their competition. How do you grow your business in a market which looks like a sea of sameness, where you and your competitors are viewed as interchangeable and don't have...

The Week in Copiers 5 Years Ago Second Week of September 2015 I had some big news today. Well it was big for me and may or may not be big for others. Most of you that I sell a lot of wide format MFP's. I've been with the Ricoh wide format product since 1998. There are or let me say there were three toner based wide formats models that Ricoh offers to their dealers and direct channel. Seems COVID19 has now caused Ricoh to eliminate both the MP W7100 and MP W8140 (10 ppm & 14ppm) from...

The Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago Third Week of March 2016 What’s the difference between digitization, digitalization, and digital transformation? Not so long ago, businesses kept records on paper. Whether handwritten in ledgers or typed into documents, business data was analog. If you wanted to gather or share information, you dealt with physical documents — papers and binders, xeroxes, and faxes. Then computers went mainstream, and most businesses started converting all of those...

Sales Professionals Just Do The Work, Sales Reps Find The Excuses!

When it comes to leadership in sales, I first think of self-leadership, self-accountability and the willingness to remove all the excuses. When you make excuses, you aren't giving yourself a shot to succeed. What would happen if you stopped the excuses, the mental gymnastics and trained yourself to try new things? What would you learn? What would happen to your sales results? What would happen to your professional growth? One of my favorite quotes is by Craig Groeschel, There has been...
