I have heard from some of the secondary aftermarket suppliers wanting people to stock up before the tariffs take effect. Seems they are using it like any other bad news piece and trying to gain business now. I also wonder how this will affect the Japanese manufacturers.

same here, I guess they will start their nonsense once USA stocks have been depleted. I just heard of a Toshiba dealer that won school business based on .0018 for black and .02 for color. hahaha!

I'll never for the life of me understand why someone would take that business.

I caught an alert with my gmail with the tariffs that are going into effect against China on July 6th (I believe). There were 818 items and then another 3something. One item I did see was copier parts and accessories. I can probably find the list and post for everyone. The tariff is going to be 25%. Has anyone heard from their manufacturers yet on this? How does this affect the Japanese manufacturers in China? Please reply if you know something!

When most of us retired last night the news was telling us that President Trump had rolled back the tariffs to December 15th and that certain products would be removed from that list for health, safety and national security concerns. I think all print/copy devices/parts/ toner originating from China were subject to a 10% tariffs in the first round of tariffs back in Oct 2018. That escalated to 25% tariff in May 2019.
