There's a New Ricoh Wide Format Exit Tray in Town
Building on the global success of the Output Tray ROT-1 used for the Ricoh (Savin Lanier) MP W6700/W7140/8100 wide format MFPs. Copier Solution Shop is now offering the Output Tray ROT-1XL. Beta Testing I've been able to place two of these with existing clients for a beta testing. One client is a commercial building contractor who prints many "E" size drawings. Architect in New Jersey Selects KIP C600 Wide format printer
It was just about a year ago when Stratix Systems placed their first KIP C600 wide format printer with an Architect in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Our client had a failing older Ricoh wide format plotter that was made about 50 prints per day. After 8 years of service the time was right to look for a new color wide format printer. Our client had three needs when looking for a new printer. First and foremost was the ability of the wide format to print in color. The other requirement was for decent...

Five Reasons I’m Stoked about the KIP C600 Series Color Plotter
Five Reasons I’m Stoked about the KIP C600 Color Plotter Every now and then one of those technology marvels cross my life. I can remember the awesome IBM Selectric II Typewriter (so many years ago), the Minolta 450Z, our much loved Ricoh MP 240W (wide format plotter) and now the incredible KIP C600 color plotter (wide format). I’m a tech junkie and any phrase that starts with “State of the Art Technology” has my attention! KIP utilizes contact control technology which enables the KIP C600 to...

Re: Five Reasons I’m Stoked about the KIP C600 Series Color Plotter
I think the KIP C600 has been replaced by the C650 with a Cdn dealer cost of around $21k so the price point is not for the majority of clients. KIP insists upon very expensive techncial training before they will ship product so that freezes a lot of dealers out of the market.

This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago
This Week in Copiers Five Years Ago Third Week of April 2018 Real Copier Sales It was almost two weeks ago when I met with a net new client. The interest from the client was for a wide format MFP to replace two HP inkjet plotters, one working and one non working. At the end of the meeting I was told he would get back to me tomorrow with a decision because he wanted to discuss the finance terms I provided with his accountant. It's now been two weeks of a couple emails back and forth with the...

Is Your Wide Format MFP a Ticking Time Bomb?
Well not really a ticking time bomb, however if you support or own a Ricoh MP W2400, W3600 or MP W3601, MP W5100, MP W7140 then it's time for replacement. Ricoh, Lanier, Savin cross reference chart All of the above wide format devices from Ricoh, Savin and Lanier have internal hard drives. Ricoh may no longer offer replacement drives. The worst part about hard drives is that they will fail given enough time. If the hard drive fails you'll no longer be able to print, copy or scan. I recently...

Why Copier Sales People Still Need to Demonstrate MFP's & Wide Format Devices
This week, I was stationed in Atlantic City for an Association event spanning three days. While being away from home for such a duration isn't my preference, the Association event serves as a robust platform for gathering leads for potential new prospects. From 7 AM to 7 PM on Thursday, with half-day commitments on Wednesday and Friday, the schedule can be quite taxing for anyone. Thankfully, I had backup representatives assisting me on Wednesday and Thursday. Prior to the event, I ensured...
