Reply to "PaperCut"

Old Glory,

Not sure how long the MF version has been in play. I've only been back in the industry since January and my new dealership already had some PaperCut installations when I arrived. The software does have the behavior modification pop-ups you are referring to, and I'm told specialized scripts can be easily written to force almost any behavior. For instance, during a WebEx last week my PaperCut account rep told my client of a PaperCut installation in which the user set up a rule that when printing an email from Outlook (I know...why would you allow this anyway), the software forced duplex and monochrome printing to save paper and eliminate color clicks for a single hyperlink often found in email text. The client thought this was brilliant. The software also allows for pre-paid print quotas (great for educational campuses) and "green" pop-ups ("You could save x number of trees by printing this document in duplex to the MFP rather than simplex at your desktop printer").

My PaperCut account rep just connected to me via my LinkedIn account yesterday. If anyone wants to contact him directly, send me a LinkedIn invitation (Brian Merson at Centric Business Systems) and you can message him directly via LinkedIn.

Brian
