Xerox buys Concept Group to expand further in the UK

NEW YORK (AP) - Xerox Corp. said Tuesday that it purchased Concept Group, a supplier of digital document solutions, in order to broaden its presence in the U.K.'s small- and medium-sized business market.

Terms were not disclosed.

Xerox said Concept Group will start selling Xerox products and supplies immediately.

Xerox has worked at expanding its reach in Europe through the acquisitions of Irish Business Systems in Ireland and the Netherlands' Veenman. The Norwalk, Conn. company has also furthered its relationships with European resellers and concessionaires.

Concept Group, based in Livingston, Scotland, has nine locations in the U.K. and more than 50 salespeople. It will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox, keeping its name and headquarters.

Concept Group founder Colin Paterson will continue to run the company, reporting to Douraid Zaghouani, president of Xerox's Indirect Channels Group.

Xerox currently has more than 4,700 workers in the U.K., including 230 in Scotland.
