Business-equipment vendor Konica Minolta, which is closing its two Windsor locations, says it will lay off another 219 workers in December, according to a Department of Labor filing.

Konica Minolta, as previously reported, is slated to permanently close its facilities at 500 Day Hill Road and 550 Marshall Phelps Road by Sept. 30, 2019, when it consolidates operations at its U.S. headquarters in New Jersey.

In April, the equipment supplier announced its plans to lay off all 431 employees starting in July.

On Dec. 14, Konica will lay off 219 workers, including 18 billing specialists, 14 support associates, 11 account specialists and 11 sales administrators, the company said in a WARN notice filed Monday with the Labor Department.

Workers in Windsor are being offered jobs in New Jersey or other Konica facilities in Milford and Shelton, the filing says.

Employees are not covered under a collective bargaining agreement and have been notified of December's lay off date, it said.

Konica and its company's general counsel, Brian J. Cupka, could not be reached for comment on where the company stands with the relocation.

With corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Konica manufacturers photographic, copier and document processing equipment.
