What is @Remote?
@Remote is available first as a network appliance called the Remote Communication Gate (RC Gate). Today It can:
perform auto-discovery of up to 500 Ricoh and non-Ricoh network
connected printers and MFPs
- For Non-Ricoh and legacy Ricoh devices, it obtains the total print meter
- For newer Ricoh devices (based on GW architecture) it obtains Copy and Print and even Fax meters
- Copy and Print reports are available in both color and mono counts
- If the fleet has more than 500 devices, multiple RC Gates can be deployed
Meter data is available for the dealer to download to use for meter
billing
Management level Fleet Utilization Reporting is posted to a secure web
site for the dealer to review.
- The dealer can make this information available to the customer at their discretion.
- Reporting shows fleet population and monthly trending by a variety of views including by Vendor, Network Segment and Location
@Remote makes good sense for fleets having 5 to 10 (or more) networked
printers and MFPs
Network Security - the RC Gate is in process of being evaluated for
Common Criteria Certification and is targeted for Spring 2006

Device management functionality is planned to be introduced in 4th Q
2006

When does The RC Gate Launch Status
Launch kits and pricing will be distributed the week of November 21st
Dealers must register to complete the dealer agreement at the website
listed below. Registration process will be posted starting Dec 5th https://www.atremote.net/ricoh-usa/dealer_agreement
Ricoh University Sales and Technical training is available on
e-learning.

What are the benefits?
1. Reduce labor costs and inaccuracy associated with manual meter reading 2. Provides ongoing fleet utilization reporting for the customer and for the dealer.
- Helps both to see and understand how user the community is really using the equipment.
- Working together, they can identify ways to reduce running costs and right-size the equipment to the applications.

What about accounts where the dealer only has one or two MFPs and wants to automate meter reading?
Embedded @Remote is being introduced on the Aficio 3025, 30, 35 and 45
When one of these devices is equipped with a print option and is
connected to the network, embedded @Remote will enable it to report it's
own meters.
Embedded @Remote
- DOES NOT read meters of other networked devices
- IS NOT available for other Ricoh devices YET
- Going forward embedded @Remote will be included on new Ricoh Engines
There is no additional fee for embedded @Remote. With embedded @Remote
the customer does not need to access fleet reporting so there is no fee.
