I'm in a situation where we are offering 3 CL7000CMF's to a mutiple location real estate firm. They are enamored with the booklet/saddlestitch capability of the IR3200. They think it will give a more professional look to their listing presentation in that format. How do I spin them our way? My gut is telling me that this may be a real deal breaker for us.

Thanks!

Pete Maimone

PS: Yes I know about the "0 0 0 promo". But they are looking at a 60 month lease and want service and supplies all in one payment, as well as the lower payment.

Sorry - don't have much to offer in way of help with your competitive situation but I do have a question about the lease special "0 0 0" promotion -who is offering that?? (what leasing company?)

On a competitive note, the only advise I could offer you would be to get the customer to state and define the decision criteria they are using to evaluate you against your competition - what will the decision be based upon (and I don't mean what features). Once you have that criteria - help the customer to see that you are the better match. (i.e. - delivery, customer service, reliability, cost effectiveness, etc., there are others, but since I don't know your particular situation, its tought to suggest what criteria would be important to your cleint.)

I do know that the 3200 Canon supposedly has a nasty cost per copy because has I understand every print costs out as a color click. The black is actually a process black, not a "black toner click" like the 7000. We price our 7000's at $0.015 per copy and have the client buy the supplies and kits as they need them. The black toner is included in the $0.015. This service plan helps the client to understand that when it comes to color - they are only paying for the color as they use it!! The Canon clicks color whether there is one red word on the page, the page is all black or the page is full color. That issue itself could give you an advantage if "life cycle costing" is an important decision criteron for the client.

Sorry I couln't have been more help. Hope the deal is still alive. The leasing info would be very helpful.

Regards.
