I have a new customer using the RPCS driver to print from Catia vs 5 out of Windows. The driver wants them to select the original size and also the output size but this will not work as they do not work with standard sizes. They may have a 36"x57" and the next is 36"x 73". They do not want to have to create a custom size each time prior to printing. Anyone know if there is a way to create a custom size that is longer than they will ever need and if the embedded controller will print only what is "inked" versus the whole length? This is one of only a few embedded controller installations and it's all new to me.

Here's an update on the printing problem. When using our windows drivers, it seems as though the print output is predicated on the application.

For example, let's say you create a custom size that is 36"x100". If you were to print a 36"x50" file out of Catia (using the custom page size you set up previously), you will get 50" inches of drawing image and then 50" of blank paper. If you repeat this procedure but print a document out of MS Word, you will get 50" of image and then the W2400 cuts the paper. NO BLANK PAPER!

The customer previously used a HP HPGL2 driver when plotting to their HP plotter. This driver has a check box you can select if you want to save paper for the reason state above. If you select a page size larger than your print, the plotter will cut the page at the point the image ends. When using this HP driver and sending to the W2400, the data light starts blinking as if the W2400 is going to print but nothing ever happens.

Does anyone have any installations using the Embedded Printer where this has been an issue and you have resolved it?
Problem fixed. Customer is using their HP 1050 HPGL driver, creating a custom size larger than they will ever need, and then selecting that size when printing. In their driver, they check a box that tells the machine to print only the "inked area" and not print blank paper. My IT guy had to change a setting withing the DIMM chip (in the Embedded Print Controller) that would allow the HP driver to be used and to accept the "inked area" box being checked. Prior to this, when we used the driver, the data light would start blinking but nothing would happen. Once we changed the DIMM chip to accept the "inked area" option, everything was fine! Yeah!
