Pleasanton, California – March 24, 2011 – Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent document imaging solutions, today announced the availability of TWAIN 2.1 certified drivers for the current Visioneer® and Xerox® DocuMate® product lines. The new drivers are certified by the TWAIN Working Group (TWG) under their recently announced certification program. According to the TWG, the TWAIN certification ensures that a company's data source responds correctly to commands sent by an application. As of this announcement, Visioneer has successfully certified and made available TWAIN 2.1 drivers for 11 Visioneer scanner models and 22 Xerox DocuMate scanner models.

“We applaud the TWAIN Working Group for creating a certification process to ensure that all drivers are held to the highest standard of compatibility. Our engineering team has worked hard to insure our drivers meet these standards across the product line,” said Jon Harju, senior vice president of engineering at Visioneer. “Visioneer is very committed to this program and our new TWAIN 2.1 drivers are just the beginning; we are already looking at implementing additional improvements that we believe will raise the bar on TWAIN driver performance.”

TWAIN certification signifies these TWAIN drivers are high quality and therefore should reduce the risk and cost involved with integration in enterprise environments.

System Integrators are also able to have tighter integrations with these new TWAIN drivers since use of the user interface is now completely optional.
Information Technology Managers can silently deploy and install device drivers to all employee computers without requiring user interaction or on-site support.
Availability
The new drivers are free and available immediately from the Visioneer support website and the Xerox DocuMate support website. Additional information can also be found on the TWG website.
