I guess I did not explain myself thoroughly....Do you guys have a system in place that collects meters without you having to call the customer? Does the system collect data (meters, page costs)from other devices on the customers network (HP, Lexmark, etc)? Does the system allow you to show the customer what devices are profitable or needs replacing?
I'm looking to improve on what we are presently using to minimize our collection efforts, and become more of a resource to the customer, than just the copier salesman.
As JasonR says, you need to first decide exactly what you want to be prepared to support. You might want to consider starting with limited offerings and expanding over time. What's most important is that you do whatever it takes to get there and know that just about any road will lead there. Expect to pay money for training from someone who has "been there/done that" because there are too many variables to think that you can invent the process internally.

If your company runs on eAutomate, look into MPS 2.0. If not, look into Compass Sales Solutions. You will probably also want to partner with Supplies Network.
I would suggest that you begin to think about vtaking on another Product Line. Being a sole-line 'Dedicated' Dealer with RFG is very daunting these days. Look to a manufacturer that offers a comprehensive Managed Print Services offering. Some of these manufacturers can even sell you the compatible supplies at discounted prices, so that you can provide a complete solution when winning a larger account and taking over a fleet of machines.
I thank you for the many responses on solutions. I knew if I wanted an answer, the best resource is the p4p.

We are looking into the areas everyone suggested, and another avenue is Print Audit Facilities Manager. This program allows us to retrieve meters, receive toner alerts, and service alerts, and may be the better fit for us. The powers to be must decide that, but at least I get some input.

Thanks again for your input. As always it is greatly appreciated.
