Using Reset to disable Xbee

Hello,

I have an application where I have one co-ordinator and 30 end-units, working in transparancy mode. I only want to receive data when the end-units have a certain amount of data. I was thinking to hold down the reset pin until the end-unit has the correct amount of data, and then have the co-ordinater looking for end-units on line. If one or more are on line, then I know they have data to be transmitted. My question is, if that is a good practice to control the end-units by the reset pin?
