An account gave me a call due this message "pop up" every time they tried to select a file to print from plotbase (3.3 I beleive).

"Starting nameservice failed: System cannot find the file specified ("c:\programfiles\rw-240\rw-240\rw-240 plotbase\program\ADCAPServer,exe." Global\ADCAPdStart Event@428). In addition the plotbase was reporting "no plotter online"

I was like, dam why does this happen to me, it's a good account rather small but they have three devices from us.

I noticed that they had a free version of AVG, not sure when this was installed however it had just updated at or around the same time they called me. I removed the AVG, and then set the XP restore to a few months earlier and it worked!

Just thought I'd post this just in case someone runs across the same issue

AVG = know issue at install. Afterwards, it works fine. And that system restore was exactly the right thing to do. In this case, it was likely the service thowing the password for the local account that it was using. The only thing I would have done different is see if the local admin password the Plot Base was installed under had been changed.
