Ricoh Canada wins five-year contract with Canada’s largest school board

Aficio line of products offers wide range of applications for schools

Toronto, – Ricoh Canada, a leader in document and content management office solutions, today announced that it successfully won a tendered contract to provide the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) with a fleet of digital, multifunctional copiers.

The TDSB is the largest school board in Canada, serving over 270,000 students in 560 schools in the Toronto area. Like many publicly funded school boards needing to increase efficiencies and curb spending, the TDSB was searching for a vendor who could improve administrative workflow and meet its ever-increasing demands to cut print production costs. Ricoh won the five-year contract because of its comprehensive lineup of robust, environmentally friendly Aficio products. “Ricoh offers its customers a diverse range of technologies to provide customers with individualized solutions,” said Martin Brodigan, Ricoh President and CEO. “Our products are designed with the end-user in mind - efficient, cost effective, and user-friendly.”

Ricoh’s commitment to environmental preservation, its responsible recycling initiatives and good corporate citizenship were other key factors impacting the final outcome of the contract award. Ricoh also proved it could affect substantial hydro savings for the TDSB because of its Quick Start Up and low power consumption technologies and had also acquired a solid reputation for providing exemplary service.

Ricoh Canada’s superior line of efficient, environmentally-friendly, networkable products were important factors in determining our choice,” said Toronto District School Board’s Doug Stevens, Supervisor of Contract Services. “Ricoh also offered a significant price advantage for our Board and a solid history of providing outstanding service. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Ricoh.”
