Lemont, IL -

Resident Laura Reigle questioned why, if the administration is looking for ways to save money, it did not send a $25,000 service contract for three copiers out for bid. She said the current contract rate is 0.0736 cents per page based on the base number and copies billed quarterly — significantly higher than the lowest bidder for Glen Ellyn School District 41, whose rate is 0.0042 cents per page.

“Using these rates would save our district around $11,085.60 minimally per year on one service agreement,” she said.

Beckwith said the district is currently in the midst of a five-year contract with ImageTec which began in 2007.

“The agreement was already in place with the district from the previous administration,” he said.

Through ImageTec, the district has networked all of its computers to the copiers so that individual printers are not needed.

“Which would be more expensive,” Beckwith said.
