Sometimes it is helpful to browse the network from the control panel of the MFP.  However, sometimes it presents an error saying unable to connect to destination, check firewall settings, etc...

Why is it that on one MFP I can select manual input>Browse and see the workgroup and drill to a destination but on the same network another MFP is unable to?

No one has ever been able to provide the answer and I'd really like to know.
Thanks for any feedback!

I would also check to see if the WINS server is turned on or off. If it is ON but there really isn't a WINS server (Not used very much any more) this can cause no browsing. I would also make sure that the first DNS Server listed in the local one on the LAN, before any other (Like a Comcast, or Other Carrier's DNS Server). One thing you can try to get your IP info correct is to switch to DHCP and let the MFD self configure. Then print out your Network config sheet, for a reference. Some Manufacturers will let you turn off DHCP and then JUST switch the IP Address to its static address. Other Manufacturers will clear all the IP Settings that were set by DHCP. If you have the Config sheet you printed out you can easily re enter the correct IP Info.

I hope that this helps!
