Wednesday 06. December 2017 - Triton Showers has chosen a Watkiss PowerSquare 224 booklet maker to work in line with its new Konica Minolta Bizhub Press 1250e.

Print is an essential element to the company’s manufacturing process; each shower is packaged with an installation guide containing instructions on how to fit and operate the shower, typically consisting of 28-32 mono pages. On an average day this means around 20 different booklets amounting to 3 or 4 thousand copies.

“Our existing booklet makers were not suited to the volume of work we now produce. With the help of Konica Minolta we looked for a better booklet making solution,” says Industrial Engineer Diane Baldwin.

“It’s been worth it – we are very happy with the results,” she says. “The Watkiss machine is fast and reliable, our throughput has increased which has meant freeing up our operator’s time, plus the quality of the finished book is better than anything we have been able to produce before. The square spine is a real plus, it looks great and makes the books easier to stack and handle, and we also now get a neater trim.”

Triton is the UK’s market leading shower brand, with millions of units installed across the UK and around the world. It employs around 350 people, with 280 staff based at the company’s head office and manufacturing facility in Nuneaton.

Installing the new Konica Minolta/Watkiss print line meant redesigning and relocating the company’s print room to meet current and future needs. Triton now has a fleet of four Konica Minolta production presses consisting of three mono machines plus a colour press which produces labels for the shower packs, and also promotional materials.
