Sharp and Partners Demonstrate MFP Integration

LAS VEGAS --Jan. 30, 2006--Sharp Document Solutions Company of America demonstrated integrated applications using its open systems architecture (Sharp OSA) on multifunctional peripherals (MFPs) at the company’s national dealer meeting here.

“Through the Sharp OSA platform, businesses can achieve greater workflow and document management efficiency,” said Ed McLaughlin, president. “E-Copy, Equitrac, Kofax and Liberty Information Management Solutions are among the first of many partners who will deliver integrated software on Sharp's MFPs.”

In the general session, Liberty, Kofax, Equitrac, and eCopy previewed their software running on Sharp MFPs in such vertical market applications as financial, legal, healthcare, insurance and manufacturing.

According to a company statement, Sharp OSA streamlines document workflow and enhances productivity by making the MFP a gateway for document-based business communications. The architecture permits custom integration of the MFP interface for access to many networked applications.

“Our goal is to expand the number of developers using Sharp OSA and deliver advanced capabilities to our independent dealer channel for the benefit of our mutual customers,” said Vince Jannelli, associate director, applications and partners. The partner program will include a dedicated extranet where developers can exchange information and ideas.
