My thoughts on a Senior VP's request to join:
a.) It illustrates the level of legitimacy this site has attained.
b.) This site originated largely due to the fact that our concerns were being censored. What we (at least I) wanted was valid and accurate discourse. Maybe the possibility of reaching that goal is hampered somewhat by the lack of senior management participation. Wouldn't the ultimate be to have open dialog from all sides?
c.) I wouldn't hold his/her desire to remain anonomous against them...if I were in their shoes, I probably would have done the same thing.

I agree, my first reaction was "omgz, how dare he do that" but it was quickly followed by, "hrmm, I think I do that all the time when I think it doesn't matter".

You definitely asked yourself the correct question.

The p4photel has become the most informative and honest forum to share ideas, experiences, and strategies for success.

I would hope this is not compromised in the future, due to censorship or spin.

For example, we heard that XEROX had an army of 'bloggers' trolling the internet to promote the ColorQube and to combat any critical assessments.

The p4photel would render itself irrelevant if we moved in that direction.

The p4photel has been an exceptional resource for the Independent Dealer community, which needs all the help it can get right now.

At times, I have seen helpful posts from Ricoh employees, yet not in abundance.

What contributions would be made and how would this addition improve your website and Message Board forum?
Given that he tried to register with false info, I'm concerned. This is a business site, not a personal site where limiting the amount of personal information shared is an appropriate privacy measure.

You'll recall that I already ran into a situation once on this very board a few years ago where I did not feel I could be candid because of a manufacturer's response.

If a manufacturer rep wants to post, then he/she should be totally honest and above board with their information and their affiliation should be included in their name and signature on every post. At the first sign of chest thumping or spinning, they need to be warned. Repeat offenders, booted.
Geez, I can't tell you all how many people I've rejected for BS information, most probably don't know that I manually approve every member. Yeah it's a duanting task and sometimes it is quite disheartening to see BS information that comes through The site, except for the proposal section is FREE, I plan to keep it that way.
