When the Aficio 1060 launched (first Ricoh MFP with Scan to Email) I was excited to have that capability, but in reality its a gotcha in a Scanning centric customer environment.

To use ScanRouter, you select Scan and the list of user destinations comes up, ok NP. But if you want to Scan to Email you have to push a small icon on screen to load the Scan to Email interface to see the destinations or type in one adhoc...gotcha. This screws up everybody that was using the ScanRouter, because a) it looks almost the same, b) they don't know how to toggle back and forth easily, and think they have lost their ScanRouter destinations.

Like I said in theory it can work, but in practicality no one has made both co-exist, they either choose one or the other to use.

Part 2 of gotcha: getting Scan to Email working in a branch type office is difficult, if there is a local SMTP mail server, all is fine, but I ran into a company where the Head Office (at another location) spooled all the mail for the branch office remotely...couldn't get those 2 to connect and send Scan to emails...gotcha!
