Hi,

I’m trying to scan from MP2000Le into Windows 2003 Server but fails. The documents arrived at the server folder but with 0KB. Subsequently failure to open the file with sharing violation message appears. Initially the scan works in Windows XP & this was tested in WAN Environment. But once the server 2003 is replaced the problem started. I already disable the Digital signing, antivirus & etc. Can anyone help me on this?

Recently Ricoh has greatly enhanced the scanning features. You can now set security rights for files. Such as Protection setting as "Read Only". I am not for sure that this "IS" the problem your experiencing but, this surely will help find this answer. Read the attached PDF. This was just release from Ricoh March 08.
I hope this helps.

If my memory serves me correctly there is a problem with scanning to SMB (folder) if either the Windows Server 2003 is being used as a domain server or if the functional level of the server is "Native 2003" or "Mixed". I have a customer that cannot scan-to-folder because of this so we now have them scanning to a Linux box. There was no work around. I will keep looking for further info.
I believe that issue was fixed with firmware quite a while ago.

If not, the fix I've always used was FTP instead of SMB.

FTP takes under a minute to set up on the server and has a wizard to step you through the setup.

People usually raise security concern with "opening" FTP, but it is very secure since you can tell FTP to only accept communication from a single IP (the IP of the copier) AND require a username and password. You can also only allow "write" rights so that even if someone could "hack" it, they could only put the files there, not get anything out.
