KENT, Ohio (PRWEB) December 03, 2019

Ryan Markham, the CEO of the area leader in Managed IT Services QualityIP, recently spoke at the Cyber Risk Roundtable, hosted by Portage Development Board and MAGNET. The Portage Development Board partners with businesses and individuals, who choose Portage County to locate, build and grow their business. Their most recent event, the “Cyber Risk Roundtable” emphasized on promoting safe and secure cyber practices for manufacturing companies, by encouraging proactive behaviors to help minimize cyber risks. The event featured knowledgeable cyber experts from within several different companies, including: Craig Horbus from Brouse McDowell, Jessica Kerrigan from Hylant, Shawn Waldman from Secure Cyber Defense, Robert Schmidt from MAGNET, and CEO of QualityIP, Ryan Markham.

Manufacturing companies are among those most likely to experience a cyber-attack, and the majority are defenseless when it comes to protecting themselves. This is because they lack the adequate security and safety measures needed to combat these cyber threats. Ryan Markham, CEO of QualityIP, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity; “68% of organizations say they were hit by a cyberattack in 2019; twice on average.” With the rapid increase in cyberattacks, the need for cybersecurity is at an all-time high. With 1 in 5 small businesses suffering from a data breach just this year, the event was held November 6, 2019 to raise awareness of the dangers that can arise from lack of cyber security, and encourage safe and secure cyber practices for manufacturing companies.
