Turned about to be false about the rumor.  The rumor had one of the right players with Kyocera but it was about the partnership with Ricoh in reference to the cutsheet color production device from Kyocera.  Have no clue where this will go because from what I heard is that Kyocera has only installed 8 of those devices in the US thus far

As a Kyocera dealer, we haven't touched it.  Went to the dealer meeting a few years ago when they introduced and showcased it, and they couldn't get it running despite having ALL of their techs on hand.

Hopefully they've worked the kinks out since then, but it's hard for us to justify getting on board to sell a $250k inkjet machine that serves virtually the same purpose as the RISO ComColors we sell at a fifth the price.

There's definitely a growing market for this tech, but I don't think many dealers have jumped on board since it's a brand new technology Kyocera developed from the ground up.  Aside from the relabeled Ricoh press, Kyocera didn't have products to sell into the production market.  Lastly, bringing the device to market a few months before COVID shut down the country with all tradeshows postponed is just unlucky timing.
