RISO Introduces MZ90 at AIIM ON DEMAND
New Printer-Duplicator Unit Engineered to Make Two Color Printing Faster and Easier Than Ever.

DANVERS, MA, June 2, 2005 – RISO, Inc., a worldwide leader in digital printing technology, recently unveiled its newest product, the MZ790 Printer-Duplicator, at AIIM On Demand. Engineered to provide speed, versatility, high quality output, and outstanding ease of use, the MZ790 gives users a choice between printing in a single color or adding the power and immediacy of a second color, all in a single compact machine.

Printing Speeds to 150 ppm
RISO’s advanced technology makes color separation, master-making and two-color printing easier than ever before. Capable of printing at speeds up to 150 ppm, the MZ790 is the fastest two-color unit on the market today. With RISO’s new Easy 2 Color process, the MZ790 eliminates the need to prepare separate originals for each color. Now users can easily print in two colors with just one original. Master-making takes just seconds for either one- or two-color jobs, so jobs are ready to start printing in less than one minute. The MZ790’s proprietary design also eliminates the need to remove the second ink cylinder for printing one color jobs, making it simple to switch between single and two-color printing.

The MZ790 is equipped with a series of other new and advanced user-friendly functions from RISO. These include:

RISO Editor. This feature lets the user easily and precisely edit the original through direct-touch operation on the panel. The user can quickly and directly specify which areas should be in which of the two colors, and even move individual blocks of text, photos, and illustrations. Other features of RISO Editor include the ability to select modes, erase or shift images.

Combination Print, which allows the user to split the print run with one part in a single color only, and the other in two colors.

Overlay. With this feature, the user can select data from the memory card and overlay that data onto the scanned original.

Stamp, which enables the user to store the most frequently used data as a “stamp” data. A one-push operation automatically recalls the data to be printed in the second color. This feature is available with an optional memory.
Portrait and Group photo modes. Users can produce a clearer image of skin tones (Portrait) or each face (Group) by selecting one of these modes.

The MZ790 also offers 600 dpi scanning and a 600e dpi resolution to ensure that even the finest details are picked up and transmitted to the master making section. This assures high quality output with smoother lines, finer gradations for photos, and clear legibility for even the smallest typefaces. The unit is also equipped with the RISO i Quality System™ that offers automatic assurance of print quality and prevention of operator error for supplies. RISO i Quality also warns the user of shortages in remaining ink and masters, and helps minimize paper waste.

Suggested retail price for the MZ790 is $25,995.
