Ricoh Australia announced that it already had received multiple orders for its newest engine, the Pro C901, at last night’s official launch, indicating strong demand for the device’s impressive capabilities.

The Ricoh Pro C901 showed off its talents at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, impressing industry guests with its use of vibrant colour, cutting edge finishing and wide-gamut of applications ideal for the graphics arts.

Over 100 guests from around Australia were able to see Ricoh’s newest production colour device in action, taking away an array of samples from 100gsm Christmas wrapping paper to 300gsm restaurant menus, each exemplifying the device’s near-offset quality at a fastest-in-class speed of 90 ppm.

"The Ricoh Pro C901 is a result of observing trends in the marketplace and listening to the needs of our customers," said Kathy Wilson, General Manager of Business Solutions and Production for Ricoh Australia. "Our customers asked for a device that produces accurate, high resolution output at fast speeds, along with the automation that comes from our world-leading inline finishing. The Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition is the result."

A practical example of the Ricoh Pro C901’s broad ability is that it can produce a 400 page, A4 double sided report, with bleed up to 3 sides, glued and bound – all in the one production line, without human intervention, with up to 250 spot colours per page. This is just one of the many finishing applications relevant to the production and graphic arts markets.

"This device ticks all the boxes. The new technology used in the Pro C901 means it provides graphic-arts quality combined with the added functionality and productivity to meet high-speed turnarounds, cost effectively," she said.

Amidst the Museum’s backdrop of Circular Quay and the Opera House, the colourful Andrew O’Keefe acted as MC to over 100 guests, who were entertained by award-winning singer/songwriter Kate Ceberano and a cutting-edge performance with coloured laser lights.

The quality and extendibility of the Ricoh Pro C901 lends itself graphic arts environments, as well as print rooms and print-for-pay environments.

As a true production colour press, it has a monthly duty cycle of 580,000 and utilises new toner, engine and digital front end (DFE) technology resulting in superb colour accuracy and registration along with the ability to easily integrate with the latest software and print room environment.

The Ricoh Pro C901 is backed by Ricoh Production’s team of specialists who can provide customisable print room solutions, services, training and support.
