Sorry Art, I guess I was a little vague in my explanation. I actually scanned the test sheet into my PC with our 3800cmf at 300dpi then just sent it as a print job to the Samsung. So far we haven't been given a price on the memory upgrade. Still waiting for it. We're gonna let Muratec figure it out on their time and money first before we go buying a bunch of memory boards to correct this problem. I'm sure Al at Muratec will get back to me soon on this one. He's usually really good at responding to things like this.

We had the Samsung and then moved to Muractec, support is fantastic from Muratec. We also registered with Sammy for a service center for there systems. Wehave been getting service calls on small printers, however its a new account and a contact that we did not have before!

We have about 12 of the 45ppm devices in the field, all are working well and we are averaging one call for 30,000 pages! Most are user op since they are printer based MFP.

Sammy has introduced a 55ppm, Muractec is suppose to take this on and then bump the MSRP like they did on the 45ppm device. Read the other day that Sammy is going to attack the A4 marketplace and plan to introduce a 75ppm, 95 ppm and 110ppm device in the next 12 months!

Now is the time to add Muractec as another line, it doesn't seem like Ricoh, Canon, KonicaMinolta or Fuji Xerox are interested in this market, there were some rumors that Ricoh may enter and Toshiba, however nothing yet.

I average a couple of these systems a month and average GP is good. This is the only way to compete against direct branches when the average monthly volume is aroung 10K per month or less and they do not need 11x17! Hope this helps
We just brought in a MFX-4550 for evaluation. I printed off all the comments on this page and gave them to my service manager, and he thanks you for all the good insight. We have a tip to share back, and Ryan and Art will be glad to hear this. That annoying "confirm page size" screen that you get every time you open a paper drawer? You can turn it off. Go into the Machine Set-up/Admin Set-up screens, and poke around and you'll find it. We'll let you know how the rest of the evaluation goes.

If I understand right the Sammys are relabeled as Muratec, do you guys see a benefit for being a Muratec dealer vs. Samsung dealer

Muratec sent us evaluation equipment, and it came in a Samsung box. They were pretty upfront about relabeling Samsung.

Art, you wrote that you've been getting service calls on small printers once you registered as a Samsung service center. Can you share any more about that?
