Re: Ricoh Production Printing

I received an RFP this morning for an In-Plant CRD that runs between 1.5 million impressions & 4.5 million impressions per month shared between (2) DocuTech 6180's that occassionally Tape Bind.

I'm pretty sure that none of the Ricoh Pro Series can handle this type of volume (based on specs, not experience), but does anyone have any production systems in the field running this type of volume? What competitive options existing outside of Xerox?

I have a couple of MP1350's doing average of 400K per month, that's about it for me.

I have 3 Oce Varioprint 6160's doing about 3 million impressions a month each. These things are beasts. They can easily handle up to 8 million a month if they wanted to.

Ricoh has nothing that will handle that volume. I believe Xerox, Oce and the Hiedelberg "Digimaster" are the only games in town. Canon was relablin ghte Heidelberg series, not sure if they still are.

I have a MP1350 that on average does 850k per month for the last 24 months so I believe that you could do it with a few of the new 135 ppm Ricoh’s

Tim was already leading PPBG. I don't think this was a change at all, but a continuation of current responsibility.

Not sure my post mentions the word "change" anywhere. I do think it is interesting that they have not yet dismantled the Production Print Business Group (PPBG), as IKON (formerly known as Ricoh) tries to reduce costs.
