This is what I've been told. The U.S. requires manufacturers to maintain a complete parts inventory for 7 years past the last date that the product was sold new. The final date of assured parts availability is the date that Ricoh will no longer replenish parts that run out.

"What this means to you, Mr. Customer, is that from this moment on, you are on borrowed time. Not all service calls need a part, not all parts will run out at the same time but when you need a part that we can no longer get, you will likely be down and it will be without warning. Even if you ordered a new machine that day, you will be at least a couple weeks before we can get you functional again."
