Hoping for a little help with a few questions for the awesome Ricoh folks out there!

We are a relatively small dealer doing a little more than $1m per year and rapidly growing. We are Authorized for Toshiba and Kyocera.  We are not overly thrilled with the Kyocera program and Toshiba has us on a very short leash, because they have a "Mega" dealer a couple counties over that we can't go anywhere near.  We are looking to replace a product line with one that provides a complete offering like Ricoh, so here are a couple quick questions...

What kind of warranty does Ricoh provide on their products (Parts / Performance)?

Are they good with updates, field bulletins, firmware, service support and the like?

Is competing with the direct branches challenging on price point?

Where do they ship parts and hardware from?

Also, I tried to find a contact for the Midwest region and came up empty, does anyone know who handles Wisconsin dealers for Ricoh?

Thanks you so much for your help. Any other info you feel would be helpful is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Aaron

I'll second what Art said. We can compete with the directs at times here. We don't typically see the down and dirty IKON acquisition pricing that was below what we can buy it for anymore but its still pretty low at times especially with multiple machines. My rep told us that the directs are always complaining about how they can't compete with the dealers on price. I still laugh at that. There is no way we have better pricing than our direct in our market. I have seen the quotes that I cannot even touch with non profit pricing. We don't trust Ricoh and after going to the last few dealer meetings not many dealers that i spoke to trust them anymore. We are probably on the verge of not getting any sales support from them from what I hear which will not be much different from the last few years. There are some good people at Ricoh who I have dealt with and then there are some that I wonder how they got where they are.

We are also a multi-line dealer so from a service standpoint we are much happier with the Canon's than Ricoh's but Ricoh is not a bad system and IMO you will be much more happy than with the Kyocera. I do not know how people continue to be single line Kyocera dealers and keep customers happy. We had Kyocera for a few years and then canned them.

From a service standpoint I feel pretty confident in saying that they send out the bulletins and updates probably about as well as everyone else. I don't hear our VP/Service or Techs complaining about things like that.
