There's so much sizzle in the new ICE platform that runs on the new 03 (Metis) series.  What I was hoping for and it seems what Ricoh delivered is nothing more than a fancy icon and a direct link to your cloud service.

I was hoping that once the MFP connects with the likes of Box, Dropbox, Evernote that we would be able to drop documents to specified folders and after reading the operator manual it seems that is not the case.

Yes, we get to choose what file type to save as, and yes we have a searchable pdf, and then choose to OCR the document for the conversion to word and excel. But, at a cost of $240 annual.

I can sell it, but it's not as robust as I wished it was.  Has anyone scanned any documents with the ICE platform yet?  We're waiting on our NFR to try things out on our end.

I've tested it, & the OCR takes longer than I would like.  I don't expect much for the price, but my clients will.  The two biggest issues I have is that it doesn't look like you can remove the icons for services you don't use which is annoying and the fact that you can only scan into the main directory of your cloud services.  That's a HUGE miss.  Additionally, with Windows 8 being forced on more businesses & the deep integration of SkyDrive into Windows 8, they will need to have a connection to SkyDrive as well, in my opinion.

I agree, HUGE miss that you can only scan to the main directory.  Would like to hear from someone who sells non ricoh, is this the same for scanning to a cloud service?  Meaning can you browse the folders and then scan to the direct folder of your choice?

Maybe I did something wrong during setup.  Ours in our demo room is incredibly slow.  Just to get to the URL for the home screen takes a while.  Getting to dropbox app (or any others) and logging in and making selections takes so long it still looks like this is in development.  I must be doing something wrong.  Our internet connection is good and I don't know why the MFP is so slow.  Do I need to add something?  Memory, GB ethernet?

Played with trying to set it up in our showroom.  First of all it took over a week and several emails to get a code to enter into the machine when the documentation claims you will get the code within an hour.  Fought with it and the piss poor instructions for a couple of hours.  Gave up.  Can't sell something where the support from Ricoh is that poor.  Moved on.
