MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Combining business-class quality and inkjet convenience, Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced the 11" x 17" RICOH SG 7100DN GELJET color printer, ideal for home offices, small businesses and smaller departments in larger companies.

The SG 7100DN combines the speed of laser printers with the compact footprint and affordability of an inkjet printer. It features innovative quick-drying viscous ink that produces less bleed through on inexpensive plain paper while its smear-, fade- and water-resistant properties help create durable impressions on envelopes, tickets and other documents that are subject to harsher conditions and handling. Its wide, permanent print heads produce prints at speeds up to 29 pages per minute.

The SG 7100DN also brings 11" x 17" color printing to the cost-conscious inkjet market, making it suitable as a small office's sole printer or an affordable complement to a black-and-white laser multifunction printer. The multitasking SG 7100DN can be used to print standard business documents like invoices and contracts, as well specialty documents such as medical diagnostic images, water-resistant restaurant menus, and custom wedding invitations and place cards. An optional 100-Sheet Multi-Bypass Tray can be added for printing up to 12" x 51" for banners and signs on 140 lb. Index.

Despite its ability to handle A3 paper, the printer is compact and energy-efficient. At 21 inches x 20 inches x 8 inches, its footprint is much smaller than many A3 laser printers, and a full 28 percent smaller and 23 percent lighter than its Ricoh predecessor. It uses a mere five percent of a laser printer's energy.

"The SG 7100DN directly addresses a wide range of unmet needs among businesspeople today," said Jason Dizzine, Vice President, Technology Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "It's the perfect middle ground between high-end laser capabilities and consumer-class inkjet convenience."

The SG 7100DN is available now for an MSRP of $1,299. For details on Ricoh's full line of products, services and solutions, please visit www.ricoh-usa.com.
