Ricoh is pleased to announce the launch of the Ricoh DX3340 Priport. The DX3340 replaces the JP1235 and delivers significant performance enhancements over its predecessor. This Priport features bid-winning pricing, low running costs, high-speed throughput and crisp image quality.

Product Features:

High-visibility, multipurpose LCD. A high-visibility multipurpose LCD shows step-by-step operations at a glance. In addition, this backlit LCD provides graphic image feedback regarding mis-feed location. This means users will enjoy easier operation and quicker recovery.

New optional VC-20 PC Print Controller. With the optional Embedded PC Print Controller, the DX3340 serves double-duty as a high-speed printer. Users can print an original image directly to the DX3340 from computer running under Microsoft Windows. Without having to scan hardcopy from the platen glass, users benefit from first-generation output, enhancing image quality.

Simple one-button master making and printing. Having two buttons combined into one, mistakes in printing and master making by pressing a wrong button will surely be avoided. The status in printing process becomes easy to find out with LED.

Universal design to increase accessibility to persons with disabilities. New operation panel emphasizes improved accessibility. New design keys allow a definite press with their unique surfaces. By enlarging the letter size on the panel to 5mm from 4mm and adopting LED to main keys, it provides improved visibility even for people with color weakness. This new panel design complies with the Accessibility laws, the Rehabilitation laws and the Usability System.

[B]Low Cost-Per-Print (CPP). The DX3340 is a good example why digital duplicators provide the user with the lowest cost per print than any other form of copying or printing. The ideal range of duplicating at 100+ prints per original will yield a cost per print of less than a third of a cent.

RICOH CORPORATION INTRODUCES THE PRIPORT DX3340

New Digital Duplicator Offers Exceptional Ease of Use and Cost-Saving Features

LAS VEGAS, June 06, 2006 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced the Priport DX3340 digital duplicator, designed to deliver quality prints at low cost. Offering an array of advanced capabilities that are easy to use, this new digital duplicator will produce prints at about one-third of a cent per page.
The Priport DX3340, while able to work in any high-volume environment, is especially designed to address the varied needs of schoolteachers and administrators. Allowing users to print up to 130 pages per minute (ppm) on a wide variety of paper stock – including construction paper, card stock and NCR paper – the Priport DX3340 is also embedded with a scanner that can accommodate textbooks as large as 11”x 17”. To produce quality, readable copies, the scanner eliminates unsightly binding margins.

Optional cost-saving features can enhance the capabilities of the Priport DX3340 as well. A quick-changing color drum offers inks in every PMS® color, while an Embedded Controller allows it to print documents from any Windows PC.

To make copying easier, the Priport DX3340 features a large, brightly lit multipurpose LCD that guides users through all print jobs. Further, masters can be quickly and neatly disposed of with the Snap Open Master Eject Box – a time-saving feature that will make document management a cleaner, more efficient process in schools.

Ricoh’s commitment to creating environmentally sound products was an integral component in the design of the Priport DX3340. It features Instant Start-Up Technology and an Automatic Shut Off function that will completely shut the unit down after a user-specified period of inactivity. The Priport DX3340 also complies with the RoHS directive and the WEEE directive to conserve the environment.

The suggested retail price for the Priport DX3340 is $5,420.

Hey Art,
I'm doing good, thanks - been preoccupied lately. The JP3000 & JP4500 are rumoured to be replaced by one unit this year. As far as the DX3340, I have some on order, but - surprise surprise - the platen covers are on b/o...... So will look at it soon and report back. It takes JP1235 ink, but JP1030 masters - they must have a warehouse full of those old masters or something! More soon.
