RICOH CORPORATION INTRODUCES THE eCABINET 2100 ADVANCED DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

BOSTON, April 17, 2007 – Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, introduced today the enhanced eCabinet 2100, an easy-to-use document management appliance that automatically captures, files, stores, and retrieves all paper and digital documents. eCabinet 2100 offers extended compatibility with Ricoh’s latest peripherals to enable easy storage and management of electronic documents.

eCabinet 2100 is a network document repository for departments and workgroups that integrates seamlessly with all Ricoh office equipment. The appliance provides users autonomous paper-to-digital content management capabilities that can serve as a standalone content management system or a supplement to a larger enterprise-wide content management system. eCabinet 2100 empowers users to store and manage documents electronically and share them within workgroups, departments and remote offices. In addition, the software integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook™ and has built-in disaster recovery capabilities.

Paper documents scanned at Ricoh Multifunction Products (MFPs) are routed through the appliance and automatically captured by state-of-the-art Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and indexing technology. After assigning the eCabinet appliance an IP address, the documents become conveniently available to a workgroup through their choice of Internet browsers. In addition, to keep sensitive documents secure, users can limit access by creating a passcode.

Once documents are stored in eCabinet, they can be instantly searched and retrieved through its Web user interface via content, date, owner, as well as by setting custom keywords to define search parameters. Because eCabinet simply plugs into an office network and is built on open interfaces and protocols, it is easily configured to seamlessly capture all information created and exchanged by leading office peripherals, regardless of the network’s operating system.

“Ricoh continues to offer customers the best possible document management solutions to help businesses manage their critical documents,” said Hede Nonaka senior vice president, Document Services and Solutions Division, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “eCabinet 2100 provides an easy-to-use solution for storing, managing, retrieving and protecting important information in order to simplify the content management process and increase overall productivity.”

The suggested retail price for eCabinet 2100 is $14,995, which includes the latest software and an appliance that can store up to two million pages and can easily be upgraded with networked storage units to reach up to approximately 20 million pages. In addition, up to 10 units can be integrated into the network.
