RICOH CORPORATION ALIGNS WITH XYTHOS
TO SIMPLIFY DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT AND STORAGE SOLUTIONS

West Caldwell, NJ, February 28, 2007 – Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, and Xythos Software, Inc., a leading developer of Basic Content Services solutions, today announced Xythos’ entry into the Ricoh Technology Alliance Program. Xythos’ document and file management software will help users access and share electronic and scanned documents and is compatible with Ricoh’s embedded software architecture in its multifunction products (MFP).

Ricoh and Xythos both view this alliance as a means to deliver user-friendlier document management options to their users. Xythos Software offers web-based document and records management applications that help organizations automate the storage and classification of scanned documents. Xythos applications also provide secure browser and desktop access to these documents over the web. The Xythos connector for Ricoh allows users to simply scan a document on a Ricoh multifunction product (MFP) and transmit the digitized file over any IP-based network to a selected Xythos directory. Advanced directory access controls govern user access helping organizations meet compliance requirements and integrated collaboration tools help users safely exchange and modify files beyond the firewall.

“The Ricoh Technology Alliance Program provides a unique opportunity for Ricoh and Xythos to address a growing need in the marketplace,” said Jim Till, CMO of Xythos Software, Inc. “Working together, Ricoh and Xythos offer a simple and cost-effective solution for organizations struggling to control the rapid increase in physical and electronic content while responding to escalating security and compliance requirements.”

“Our alliance with Xythos strengthens our commitment to offering flexible and user-friendly tools demanded by today’s busy work environments. With this software, users will be able to seamlessly scan and store documents from Ricoh products, continuing to make our devices an integral part of workplace efficiency,” said Hede Nonaka, senior vice president, Document Solutions and Services Division, Ricoh Corporation.

Through the Ricoh Technology Alliance Program, leading software companies, content management systems integrators and consulting companies work together with Ricoh to provide innovative and effective software, digital imaging and content/document management solutions for the business community. The Alliance Program was created for companies whose products and technologies can integrate with and support the competitive stance of Ricoh products and solutions in the marketplace.

There are two divisions within the Alliance Program, the Strategic Alliance Program and the Technology Alliance Program. Xythos has joined the Technology Alliance Program, which is comprised of third party software and hardware companies who specialize in niche solution offerings that complement Ricoh hardware and software technologies. Xythos is also an existing member of the Ricoh Developer Program (RiDP) in which software vendors, systems integrators, value-added resellers, and in-house developers gain access to the support, tools and services needed to integrate new or existing solutions with Ricoh Group hardware and software products.
