RICOH CERTIFIES 80 SOLUTION ENGINEERS AS MASTER-LEVEL COLOR MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS

Newly certified consulting force more equipped than ever to help customers improve the performance of their production printing operations

Chicago, IL, October 8, 2012 - To better help customers improve their printing performance, Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced an important step in the professional certifications for an 80-person team of its production printing solution engineers. Ricoh has certified this team in accordance with the Master certification standards for Color Management Professionals (CMPs) issued by the IDEAlliance Association.

The CMP Master certification reflects digital media best practices, and is an elite industry designation that documents Ricoh’s leadership in printing quality excellence. The certification is designed to recognize color management expertise among highly qualified technology managers, production professionals and color management practitioners. With these certifications, Ricoh now leads the industry in CMP Masters designations.

“Our mastery of color management directly benefits our production printing customers in both commercial and in-plant settings,” said Tim Vellek, Vice President, Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “Ricoh’s newly certified solution engineers are ideally positioned to help customers deliver quality and predictability through our solution design, training and ongoing support.”

Ricoh announced the certification today at Graph Expo 2012, which runs through Wednesday, Oct. 10, at McCormick Place South in Chicago. (Visit Ricoh in Graph Expo Booth 2600.)

The CMP Master certification initiative exemplifies the Ricoh tradition of continuous, intensive education for the benefit of customers. In addition to the IDEAlliance CMP, Ricoh has certified 11 team members as G7 Experts through IDEAlliance. G7 Experts have proven their expertise in color management, process and quality control for proofing and printing equipment. They can help customers’ production printing operations achieve G7 Master qualification, assisting smaller printers in competing for valuable business opportunities.

“Our goal is to complement our state-of-the-art production printing technology, the RICOH Pro line, with the services our customers require to provide high-value business information solutions to their own customers,” said Vellek. “Continuous mastery of the craft is a crucial step in executing this mission.”

These certifications complement the G7 hardware certification for the Ricoh Pro C901 and Pro C651/751 digital cut-sheet printers.
