RICOH BEGINS DISTRIBUTION OF ECOPY DOCUMENT IMAGING AND DISTRIBUTION PRODUCTS

West Caldwell, NJ , October 25, 2005 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that it will begin distributing products made by eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, to its direct sales branches and to Savin and Gestetner dealers in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
In order to prepare for distribution, Ricoh will provide technical training and marketing support for eCopy products across its network. Ricoh will be distributing the entire suite of eCopy products, including eCopy ScanStation OP™, eCopy Desktop™, and eCopy Connectors. Additionally, Ricoh independent dealers can sell eCopy products by sourcing them directly from eCopy.

“eCopy makes scanning and incorporating documents from Ricoh digital copiers into enterprise applications a simple, streamlined process,” said Wayne Mize, Vice President, Solutions Marketing at Ricoh Corporation. “Ricoh is pleased to offer customers the option to include eCopy software with our products. The joint solution provides an exceptional method for ad hoc scanning of documents into electronic work processes that are critical to businesses around the world.”

eCopy ScanStation OP provides an ergonomically designed touch screen, keyboard and PC that attach easily to Ricoh digital copiers so organizations can add hardcopy documents into business processes, such as document management, e-mail, financials, human resources, reporting, administration, and customer management. ScanStation OP includes ShareScan™ OP, eCopy’s easy to use and highly customizable document imaging and distribution software.

Providing a complete set of software tools, including annotation, stamps, and optical character recognition (OCR), eCopy Desktop enables end-users to work with and distribute scanned documents from their PCs as part of electronic workflows. eCopy Connectors enable users to incorporate documents directly from ScanStation OP into more than 45 enterprise applications, including EMC Documentum Content Server, Interwoven WorkSite, Captaris RightFax, and Microsoft Outlook/Exchange.

“Businesses and government organizations recognize there is a fundamental change taking place in how they incorporate paper documents into electronic workflows. No longer does document scanning require specialized staff and equipment that can cause bottlenecks and delays in the flow of business,” said Edward Schmid, president and CEO of eCopy. “As a result, the copier has become a critical entry point in IT infrastructures designed for managing the complete document lifecycle.”
