Ricoh Corporation will assume all marketing of eCabinet, allowing Ricoh Silicon Valley to continue its focus on its primary objective, which has always been research and development. The transition will be seamless to customers, as Ricoh Silicon Valley's sales, marketing and channel operations will be merged with Ricoh's. Furthermore, Ricoh Silicon Valley's channel partners will continue to source eCabinet hardware and services through it's two-step distribution partners.

Ricoh plans to continue development of eCabinet's capabilities in the future to further affirm the company's ongoing commitment to its customers and partners.

About Ricoh's eCabinet Series
A combination of thin-server hardware and software technology, eCabinet is a dedicated document management appliance that connects to any standard TCP/IP network. eCabinet automatically captures, files and retrieves all electronic and paper business documents that flow through an office such as e-mail, Web pages, PC documents, faxes, photocopies, scans and printouts. Documents are captured with state-of-the-art OCR and indexing technology so they can be easily and instantly retrieved from a convenient eCabinet Web user interface. Users will never again have trouble locating a misplaced fax or presentation that was prepared by a vacationing colleague. Some of the benefits of eCabinet include scalable business continuity, effortless capturing and management of information, high availability, and simple retrieval using standard office tools. Because eCabinet is based on open interfaces and protocols, it can be easily configured to work with the leading office peripheral products.
