Ricoh Australia has acquired the IT services business of IMC Communications saying the acquisition bolsters Ricoh’s strategy to be a “complete technology services-based” organisation.

Ricoh Australian Managing Director, Les Richardson, said the acquisition of such a well-respected company as IMC added managed IT services to Ricoh’s existing capability of Managed Document Services (MDS).

“We can now offer an extended range of quality professional services which includes IT and network services across Australia.

“The expertise and capability of IMC Communications combined with Ricoh’s customer-centric culture means we are in a very strong position to offer the support, know-how and technology that Australian businesses need to remain at the top of their game.

“We have positioned ourselves as a services-focused provider, and this acquisition strengthens our offering significantly.”

Richardson said IMC’s Matt Dixon now headed up the new Managed IT Services Division of Ricoh Australia as National Manager, IT Services Group.

“It is an exciting opportunity for IMC Communications to become part of a truly global and visionary organisation, Dixon said.

“We bring high-level expertise and experience in network management and systems integration to a company renowned for its technology, customer service and innovation. We believe our combined offering to the market will be well received.”

From what I learned at the BTA East Grand Slam event in Rye Brook, NY on 10/3/12, Ricoh will not adopt this strategy in the U.S. However, they are preparing the RBS locations to pursue Managed IT Services in certain markets. They have no intent to offer any type of offer to Ricoh Dealers, like XEROX has with ACS and Konica Minolta has with All Covered.
