Can somebody shed some light on the standard and optional print configurations for the Ricoh 3260C and 5560. We had this product launched a week ago and were told that the 3260C came standard with printing and scanning. Our pricing noted otherwise so they called the product mgr and they were told that it was an option. All documents I have read on this including sales information guide say that it is standard - however we got a system in and it does not have standard print/scan buttons on the machine.

Anybody know for certain what is going on with these systems. Also is Fiery available for both 3260 and 5560 or just 5560?

The 2 machines are identical except for speed and neither comes standard with a print controller. The reason for the 2 different machines is purely marketing. the 3260 is targeted at B/C market and the 5560 is for production color. If you look at the brochures you will notice the 3260 brochure is set-up like the other 32XX boxes and does not mention the fiery. But the 5560 Brochure looks like the 6513 brochure and only mentions the fiery. In reality either controller will work in either machine.
Here's the answer I got from our Regional Sales Manager who got the answers from HQ:
Some questions:

1. Does the fiery work on the 3260?

Sure does. The Ricoh price list shows everything a la carte (mainframe and controllers separate). You can mix and match controllers to mainframe.

2. Is the print option included and/or is it mandatory? Does it need to be ordered separately?

The Print/Scan option (002449MIU) is the GW controller. Since everything is a la carte, you will need to order it with the mainframe.

3. Is the print/scan feature standard or optional?

If you order the mainframe by itself, it is just a standalone copier. Thus you need either the Scan/Print kit or E7000 controller to network it.

Hope this helps stop the confusion.
